My new answer to everything
Lately, whenever anyone asks me to do anything, all I want to say to them is the following:
I'm supposed to be writing my novel right now.
Which, when translated means (roughly):
No, i can't do that, bite me.

You're doing better than I am. I'm at the stage where I tell people that I'm too busy THINKING about writing my novel. Sigh.
